Soke Cup 2010 - Download Application Form

Dear Senseis and Karate-ka,

Please pass on this message to your students:

Every 3 years member countries of the International Chito-Ryu Karate-do Federation get together for an international tournament called the Soke Cup, also known as the "Chito-Ryu World Championships".  Throughout the history of the event, it has been held in various countries throughout the world such as Japan, Canada, Australia and Norway.  The standard of the competition is very high as the event attracts the top Chito-Ryu competitors from around the world.     The host country of the event always makes sure that visitors enjoy the local area and shares in cross-cultural experiences of all participants.

This years Soke cup will be held in Japan and looks to promise a very exciting and wonderful event with unique opportunity for all.   The  soke cup includes divisions to suit all levels and ages, from novice to advanced and juniors to grand master divisions (see attached).   This tournament also uses bogu gear (protective equipment) to prevent injuries.    Nova Scotia has boasted past Champions such as Laura Karis Allen, San Fung, Gary Sabean and Mitchell German.   This year we hope to send again a strong and also big team.   At this time we ask for all dojo's and students to fill out an application if interested to participate in this event.   We will soon be setting up various training and fund-raising activities.  We also encourage all members of ICKF-NS to support our team and help at various fund raising events.

Looking forward to good participation by all.

Best Regards,

Mitchell German
