Chris Richards: A 3rd degree black belt with the title of Junshidoin, started training in 1989 at the Central Nova Karate Club in Abercrombie, Nova Scotia. Moved to Calgary in 2000 and trained there at the Calgary Chito Ryu club for 7 years before moving back to NS and training with Sensei German in September of '07. Training of almost 20 years and instructing for over 7 years. Primarily instructs kids. |

Steve Gionet: Began Chito Ryu at the Atlantic Karate Club under Sensei Delaney back in Sept. 1, 1981 and trained with him until his untimely death. Received his Sho-Dan in Nov. 1984 from Sensei Hagashi and received his Ni-dan from Soke-Sensei in Jan. 1992. After leaving the AKC he began training under Sensei German 3 years ago. He had the honor of meeting "O" Sensei in 1982 here on his visit to Halifax and perform a demonstration for him at that time! He had competed in the early 80's and early 90's provincially and in Maritime competitions. Usually finishing in the top three in kumite. He began teaching in 1984 under the direction of Sensei Delaney. He has a Level 1 coaching certification and level 2 Theory, and certified in First Aid. Primarily instructs beginner adults. |

Rick Currie of Cole Harbour is a 2nd degree black belt and a former member of the Nova Scotia Provincial Karate Team. Rick has over 20 years training and 10 years Instructing. Primarily instructs kids. |

Steven Kelly of Fall River has has been studying and practicing the art of Chito Ryu karate for over 14 years. He is a 2nd degree black belt, National Champion and National Team member since 2006. He has been a member of the NS Karate Team for 6 years. He has also competed internationally at the Commonwealth Championships, the World University Championships as a part of the Senior Canadian team, as well, the U.S. Open in Las Vegas. Nationally Steve has two gold medals in individual kumite, one silver and two bronze (one Jr and one senior). His best international showing was fith place finish at Junior Pan American Championships in Curacao. Steve has been Provincial and Atlantic kumite and kata champion for the last few years and recipient of the Nova Scotia Karate Association male athlete of the year award. Primarily instructs kids. |

Justine Kelly of Fall River has been in Chito-ryu karate since a young age and has been practicing for over 10 years. She attained the rank of 1st degree black belt in Nov of 2007. Justine was the junior provincial Kata & Kumite champion and has been the recipient of Nova Scotia Karate Association female athlete of the year award. She has also won several National medals in kumite and team kumite. She has been a member of the Nova Scotia Karate Team since 2005 and has been on the junior National team for the last 3 years. Her best performance was a bronze medal at the 2006 Junior Pan American Championships in Curacao. Primarily instructs kids. |

Leo MacDougall has has been studying and practicing the art of Chito Ryu karate for over 10 years. He is a 1st degree Black Belt and has been assisting Rick Currie as an instructor at Tallahassee since 2003 Primarily instructs kids. |

Greg Da Ros had previously studied Uechi-Ryu for 14 years and achieved the rank of Sandan under Sensei Dave Hunt. He has spent the last 3 years studying under Sensei German in the art of Chito Ryu and has achieved the rank of 1st kyu. Over the years he has competed in many tournaments provincially and has been succesfull in all ranks in both kata and kumite. Internationally he had competed at the World Uechi Championships (Boston) twice,coming in third as a brown belt. Greg has been on the Provincial team since 2000. He won Bronze in -80kg men's kumite in 2004 National Candian Championships. He has been one of the NS Karate Team Assistant Coaches to Sensei German since 2005. He is a recipent of the Nova Scotia Male Karate Association Athlete of the Year multiple times. Greg is also very active as a Tournament Official and member of the NSKA Executive. Primarily instructs kids. |
